Civilization

Civilization is one of the complex words to define. Due to being an extent concept, it doesn't have an specific definition and all the definitions depend on each person's point of view.

My vision of what civilization is that they are changes such as the ways how people think. It is an evolution of thoughts and as people start thinking differently, everything we see change through the time. The concept civilization involves every aspect of life, for example, art (paintings, music, etc). As we know, art is the representation of feelings and the way we see the world, therefore art is always exposed to changes because people is exposed to them. These changes are either related to the styles or to what we people show through this. Besides, civilization involves modernism, all the modern stuffs we are getting through the time represents civilization somehow.

In conclusion, civilization to me are all the changes in human beings' life.

I really liked your post about civilisation. I can see that you did not use much technicsisms which in made your post more interesting and not full of boring words.
About some of your spelling mistakes I would say that I noticed just a few. For example i found that you wrote "an specific" instead of writing "a specific" and you also wrote "they are" instead of "there are". You probably you got confused with these phrases because you think of them in the way you pronounce them.
It is very important that you related civilisation with modernism, because it has to do with modernism has brought to us; rules, order, social division, etc.
Good Job Lutcho.

Hi Luis,
You are very right in that "civilization" is a difficult term to define because it implies not only canonical definitions but also personal perspectives. It also implies changes. What civilization means to us now will probably change over time. Do you think that people will define "civilization" the same way we define it now in say the year 2108?

I really like the way you defined this relationship between culture and language and how culture affects language.

I like your presentation because you were confident and I understood all the ideas you wanted to give us.

Maybe I would have give some examples of these three statements that we found in the text. Language expresses cultural reality, language embodies cultural reality and language symbolizes cultural reality. Examples that could explain how these statements are found in life and how they are represented on different cultures.
Anyway I think you did a good job and the presentation was dinamic because we could see your point of view about this.

· I agree with your point of view about what is language. You wrote that “It’s what we use in order to express ourselves.” Thanks to language we as human beings can express in a better way our feeling and believes. On the other hand when you are speaking try to use more eye- contact with your classmates. You tend to look at our teacher instead of us. However you was pretty sure about what you said.
